DIY Essential Oil Dryer Sheets

The other day I was searching for an alternative to chemical laden dryer sheets.  I wanted to incorporate my Young Living Essential Oils, but just couldn't seem to find one that worked for me.  Then this link showed up on my Facebook Newsfeed and I tested it out and it worked great!

These are super simple and economical to make!  Best of all, I was able to use my favorite essential oils!

What You Need:

1/2 Cup Vinegar

8-12 drops of your favorite Young Living Essential Oil (I used Melaleuca Alternifolia - but Purification would be an excellent one too!)

Thin Cotton Cloths - I used THESE

Put it all together:

Mix vinegar and essential oil in a glass container (that has a lid), then lay your cloths, stacked (cut to size) in the liquid mixture.  Press down to allow the sheets to absorb all of the liquid.  Toss one sheet into the dryer with your clothes.  Once the sheet is dried - press back into the container to re-wet.

These are perfect for a non-toxic alternative to dryer sheets.  Vinegar is a natural fabric soften, while the oils add that fragrant touch to naturally deodorizer your laundry.

  1. Do you leave the cloths soaking in the vinegar/eo solution until ready to use and then just re-wet them after using them once in the dryer?
